eHZZO is part of Croatia’s national health-insurance infrastructure - a system whose scale and stakes are set by the country it serves, not by any single team. The public description here stays deliberately high-level.

My work on it was backend engineering as part of a larger engineering organization: .NET services over a PostgreSQL database, background jobs that analyze large files, import and export pipelines, and the API endpoints that expose them. Unglamorous on paper, but this is the kind of system where a background job that processes files correctly - every time, at national volume - is exactly what production engineering means.
